As Corporate Manager, OPS Leadership Development Talene Palvetzian leads the planning and implementation of leadership development initiatives for the Ontario Public Service. She has held roles with increasing responsibilities since joining the Ontario Public Service in 2006.

 

Recent accomplishments include:

  • • Designed the first outcome-focused government-wide talent management strategy (2014-16) building OPS human capital capacity, culture, and connections;
  • • Led the evaluation and renewal of government-wide strategic employment programs to attract, develop and retain post-secondary graduates and internationally-trained professionals to the OPS;
  • • Led the continuous development of the OPS Learn and Work Program to increase high-school graduation rates among Priority Youth;
  • •Oversaw the design, development and delivery of accelerated corporate leadership development initiatives for high-potential talent to ensure leadership succession;
  • • Led the evaluation and renewal of the OPS Executive Fellowships Program, improving business relevance and experiential opportunities for executive development.

 

Prior to joining the Ontario Public Service, Talene consulted at the national and international level for the National Judicial Institute, the Centre for International Governance Innovation and Universalia Management Group.

 

Talene is actively engaged in capacity building initiatives in the community. She is an Advisory Council member for the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, a longstanding board member on the Queen’s Park Community Care Centre, a founding team member of the Amethyst Award winning employee network ‘Women in Government’, and a member of the CivicAction Emerging Leaders Network (ELN).

 

Talene is a skilled facilitator, mentor, and coach. She holds a MA in Education from McGill University and a combined honours bachelor degree from Western University where she was awarded the Gold Medal for top academic standing.
