Jessi Cruickshank

Host:

Welcome back, Jessi Cruickshank!

Called “the funniest woman on TV today, period”, by The Province, Jessi Cruickshank is the host of CBC TV’s Canada’s Smartest Person, and the co-host of the network’s new daytime talk show, The Goods, where her self-deprecating humour, irreverent interview style, and eclectic flair for fashion has quickly made her a fan favourite. Jessi’s ease in front of an audience and her personable demeanour make her a natural choice for a wide variety of events — from hosting and moderating, to keynotes and endorsements.

Jessi broke into comedy as the only female in an all-male improv troupe alongside Seth Rogen. She soon became a household name as the face of MTV, hosting MTV Live and The Hills After Show, which was syndicated in ten countries and generated record-breaking ratings in Canada and the United States.

Jessi went on to host Live from E!, Oh Sit!, Jerseylicious, Olympic Morning, and recently wrapped six seasons as the Los Angeles-based host of Canada’s #1 entertainment show, eTalk.

hrawards Devah Quartet

Entertainment - Devah Quartet

A multi-genre string quartet, Dévah has held residencies at the University of Toronto’s New Music Festival performing works on both acoustic and electric instruments, and at San Jacinto College in Texas as visiting artists, where they provide masterclasses and composer workshops with both sets of instruments. Dévah’s Progressive Rock alter-ego has resulted in being featured in the UK magazine PROG and notable performances including Canada Day at Yonge and Dundas Square, the 3-year countdown launch for the Pan Am Games, and featured guest artists at Interprovincial Music Camp’s CAMP ROCK. When in Progressive Rock mode, Dévah performs high energy sets on electric instruments with effects pedals and wireless cables, enabling them to encourage interaction with the audience through movement. Classically trained, Dévah Quartet’s members are active principal players in Toronto-based ensembles. Violinist Emily Hau is Principal Second of Sinfonia Toronto, violinist Sharon Lee is Concertmaster of Toronto Concert Orchestra, cellist Liza McLellan is cellist of Quartetto Gelato, and violist Moira Burke plays for Mirvish productions. Dévah Quartet became Yamaha Canada Artists in 2011, and D’Addario Canada Artists in 2013.
